“God's Great Blessings” Ephesians 1:1-14

1. Today, we begin our study of the book of Ephesians. What was Paul’s situation when he wrote this letter? In light of his circumstances, does it surprise you that he began the letter the way he did? Discuss.
2. Read Ephesians 1:3-14. Here, Paul gives us an audit of the blessings we have in Jesus. We can discuss these blessings in terms of the past, present and future. What are some of the blessings described in the past? In terms of God’s election, how should this impact us?
3. What are some of the blessings describes in the present? Future?
4. Notice that this passage begins and ends with praise to God. Does this describe your life today? What prevents you from being able to praise God the way Paul was doing here?
5. Spend some time sharing and praying for one another.
