SUNDAY WORSHIP

We worship together on Sunday mornings at 9:15 at Stagecoach Park Community Center, across the street from La Costa Canyon High School. Stagecoach Park is located at 3420 Camino De Los Coches, Carlsbad, California. Click here for a map and driving directions.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Our children's ministry seeks to: 

·         To welcome and love the children of families who come to Harbor Presbyterian Church.

·         To teach children who God is and what He has done through Biblical instruction, singing, hands-on activities, and group interaction.

·         To assist parents in their responsibility to raise their children in the "nurture and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).

On Sunday mornings, we provide nursery care for infants and toddlers, and a Sunday School class for children three years old through fifth grade.

The children three and older spend the music portion of the worship service with their parents before being dismissed to their classes.  Following music time, parents who wish may dismiss their children to Sunday School where they learn about God through Biblical instruction, and group interaction.  We encourage children to discuss all they hear and learn with their parents.

Harbor places a high priority on maintaining a safe, secure environment for our children and our children's ministry staff.  Our full policy is available upon request.  It prohibits sexual, physical, mental, or emotional misconduct by the staff.  We carefully screen all potential teachers and helpers to avoid placement of a known offender or at risk individual.  All children must be signed in and out of the classrooms. 

COMMUNITY GROUPS

The purpose of our community group ministry is to establish and grow community groups that pursue, apply and live out the gospel in community.  

The gospel - The good news that God's kingdom has broken into our world through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This good news includes the message of reconciliation of sinners to God, the restoration of our broken humanity and the coming renewal of all things.

Community group - A small group of people (6-12) who commit to gather regularly and share life together.

Pursue the gospel - Our community groups will be characterized by an atmosphere of safety and grace. Members or visitors will freely bring their questions, doubts, and struggles without fear of judgment or condemnation and with the hope that the gospel speaks to every aspect of our lives.

Apply the gospel - Our community groups will encourage members to "process" the gospel. Through mutual accountability, authenticity and encouragement members will give and receive grace & speak and listen to the truth. In the context of the community, Spiritual gifts will be identified and exercised.

Live out the gospel- Our community groups will be environments where the "one-anothers" of the gospel will be practiced. Our groups will focus on the corporate and individual mission that flows out of the gospel.

MERCY MINISTRY

Harbor Presbyterian Church desires to be a church that is both in Carlsbad and for Carlsbad. We strive to be for the city by demonstrating mercy and love toward those in need throughout the city. We do this by connecting volunteers to the opportunities for service, by connecting your passion to a program that can use it to impact the lives of others, and by connecting financial resources to organizations that can use them to meet the needs of those in our city.
